For more of a spirited drink you can add 375 ml of brandy or light rum.
Ingredients required:
8 cups apple cider
2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup lemon juice
3 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole allspice
2 tsp whole cloves
2 apples
1 orange sliced
1 lemon sliced
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan place cider, orange and lemon juices, cinnamon and allspice.
2. Insert 1 tsp cloves into one apple and place into cider mixture. Cook at medium heat until hot but not boiling; cover and reduce heat to low and cook about 25 minutes.
3. Strain into serving container and garnish with apple, orange and lemon slices studded with remaining cloves.
4. Serve warm or col in mugs, garnished with additional cinnamon sticks.
Makes about 10 cups.

Vegetable Dip

Ingredients required:
1 pouch Lipton Vegetable Soup mix
1 - 500 ml container sour cream
Directions:
1. Mix ingredients together well.
2. Chill for 2 hours.
Serve with cauliflower, carrot sticks or your favorite vegetables.

Cool Fruit Delight

This recipe works well if you make it the night before it is needed to allow it to set overnight.

4 tbsp margarine, melted
1/4 cup sugar
1- 10oz bag of mini marshmallows
1- 28oz can of fruit cocktail, drained
1- 500ml container of sour cream
Directions:
1. To prepare crust, combine graham crackers, sugar, add margarine and press mixture on the bottom of a spring form pan.
2. Combine mini marshmallows, fruit cocktail and sour cream; blend well and pour over crust. Chill several hours or overnight.

2-1/2 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Directions:
1. Combine brown sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter in saucepan over low heat. Cook until sugar is dissolved.
2. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients in stirring until well combined.
3. Drop by the tablespoon onto wax paper lined baking sheets.
4. Chill for one hour and enjoy.
Makes 35 crispy chews

1/2 cup margarine

1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla

3. Sift dry ingredients together. Stir into peanut butter mixture just until blended. Refrigerate covered for at least 1 hour.

2. Stir in nuts and skim milk powder to make a fairly stiff dough. (Add more skim milk powder if necessary)
3. Roll mixture into 2.5cm balls. Coat with cereal, pressing peanut butter balls into the rice krispies.
4. Store in fridge, makes 18-20 peanut butter balls.

2. In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients including the dried fruit.
3. Add oil and buttermilk and mix well.
4. Roll out the mixture to 3 mm thickness.
5. Use a cookie cutter to cut into 9-cm circles.
6. Place on oiled cookie sheets with a spatula.
7. Bake for 15-20 mins.
8. Cool cookies on wire rack.

1 tsp milk

1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Spread above mixture in pan and cover thinly with raspberry jam.
3. Make topping - 1 cup white sugar, 2 cup coconut, butter the size of an egg, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 beaten egg, mix then pour on top of raspberry jam.

Ingredients:

2 cup flour

3. Mix in order given, let stand for 20 mins.

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

1-1/2 cup Brown sugar
3/4 cup vinegar
3/4 cup water

1/3 cup ketchup

1. While rotini is cooking, make dressing and put in fridge.
2.Once rotini is cooked, rinse with cold water to cool then add all ingredients to the rotini and mix well.

This is a great recipe for the fall, with fresh apples so abundant, why not try baking with the apples and making an apple crisp.
Ingredients:

3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup oats
1/2 cup butter
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 350F
2. Peel apples, cut, slice thin and spread evenly over a greased pan. Add more apples if desired.
3. Mix together oats, brown sugar, flour. Add butter and mix until mixture is crumbly.
4. Sprinkle mixture over apples.
5. Bake in oven for approximately 30 mins, or 25 mins if in a glass pan.
6. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream... Delicious!!

3. Let rest a few minutes before using

1 sml onion thinly sliced
1 medium red and green pepper (cut in strips)
1/2 tsp minced garlic or 1 clove fresh garlic
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp cumin
1/3 cup Monterrey jack cheese (shredded)
Chicken
Sour cream
Salsa
1. Heat oil over medium heat.
2. Add peppers and onion for 3-4 minutes.
3. Add precooked chicken strips, garlic, chili powder, cumin. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Serve and enjoy.

4. Add salt, pepper, or nutmeg to taste (optional).

1. Melt chocolate wafers in a double boiler.
2. Dip pretzels in chocolate, then place on a cookie sheet covered with waxed paper.
3. Drizzle skor bits over the pretzels and allow to cool.

We've all tried weight loss programs before, trying to cut back our fat intake or any fad diets on the market. Here's a recipe I found quite useful while trying to lose weight.
Ingredients:
2 cans non fat chicken broth
5 large potatoes
Salt and pepper
Directions:
Place broth and potatoes in a saucepan.
Heat to a boil.
Cover and cook for 10 minutes over medium heat.
Drain and save the broth.
Mash with 1-1/4 cup of broth and add salt and pepper.
Serves 6

This is a recipe we've been using in the family for years now. Very good and easy to make.
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 cup flour
1tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups quick rolled oats
1. Cream together margarine, shortening, brown sugar, and white sugar.
2. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
3. Combine in separate bowl flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt.
4. Blend into creamed mixture.
5. Stir in rolled oats and chocolate chips.
6. Spoon onto greased cookie sheet, Bake at 375F for 10-12 mins.
Make about 4-5 dozen cookies.

Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients:
I just came across this recipe this past year and needless to say it quickly became one of my favorite recipes to make. Delicious!!!
Ingredients required:
1 cup (250ml) packed Brown Sugar
1/2 cup (125ml) margarine or butter
1/2 cup (125ml) shortening
1/2 cup (125ml) peanut butter
1 egg
2tsp (10ml) vanilla
2-1/2 cups (625ml) uncooked rolled oats
2 cups (500ml) Flour
1/4 tsp (1ml) salt
1/2 cup (125ml) miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
36 miniature peanut butter cups
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F - 180C.
2. Mix sugar, butter, shortening, peanut butter, egg and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed until it is mixed well.
3. Add oats, flour, and salt. Beat at low speed until all is mixed together then stir in chocolate chips.
4. Shape balls of dough into 1-1/4 inch (3 cm) balls. Place balls 2 inches (5cm) apart on cookie sheets.
5. Bake cookies for 10-14 minutes, take out of oven and press peanut butter cup into the cookie.
6. Enjoy!!
