Raspberry Bars

Another great recipe, make sure you read the recipe too as there are some additional ingredients needed that are located in the recipe. This is one I always make around the holidays.

Ingredients:

1 cup flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup butter

1 egg beaten

1 tsp milk

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350F.

2. Spread above mixture in pan and cover thinly with raspberry jam.

3. Make topping - 1 cup white sugar, 2 cup coconut, butter the size of an egg, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 beaten egg, mix then pour on top of raspberry jam.

4. Bake in oven for 30 mins.

Cherry Bread

If you love cherries like I do, you'll absolutely love this bread. You can make a few modifications to this one, for example I find the walnuts are great in the recipe however not required. Also, every now and then you can throw a few extra cherries in but like the nuts, it is not required. Hope you enjoy :)

Ingredients:

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1 egg

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 small bottle (6oz) Maraschino cherries

2 cup flour

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

2. Pour juice from cherries into measuring cup and fill with milk to make 1 cup.

3. Mix in order given, let stand for 20 mins.

4. Bake in greased and floured loaf pan for 45 mins. Check with toothpick.

5. Enjoy!!

Sweet & Sour Meatballs

Sweet and sour meatballs are a favorite meal in the household. A great recipe if there is guests coming over for supper.

Ingredients:

1-1/2 cup Brown sugar

3/4 cup vinegar

3/4 cup water

1 tbsp dry mustard mix with sugar

1 cup ketchup

2 lbs hamburg (ground chuck)

1 onion

Directions:

1. Mix hamburg and chop onions together. Form into balls.

2. Place in small roaster.

3. Mix rest of ingredients together and pour over mixture.

4. Bake uncovered at 350F for 45 mins.

5. Serve over rice.

**1-1/4 lbs of hamburg = 27 meatballs**

Marshmallow Salad

This is a family favorite, a necessity at any family get together!

2 cups marshmallows

1 cup orange sections

1 cup cubed pineapple (drained)

cherries

1 envelope Dream Whip

1/4 cup mayonnaise



1. Mash fruit, blend with mayonnaise then mix with dream whip.



2. Put in fridge for approximately 2 hours.



3. Ready to serve!

Chocolate Clusters

This is another great recipe for the holidays or a nice little treat to have on hand for when friends or family come over.

Ingredients:

1 cup chocolate chips

1/4 cup peanut butter

1 cup Planters Unsalted dry roasted peanuts

Directions:

1. Melt in double boiler until smooth.

2. Add peanuts and mix together.

3. Drop by teaspoonful on cookie sheet lined with wax paper.

4. Cool in fridge then put in airtight container and keep in fridge.

Butterscotch Pie

This is a great recipe that we've been using in our family for years. I've tried a few others but I keep coming back to this one.


Ingredients:



1-1/2 cups milk

1-1/4 cup brown sugar

6 tbsp flour

1/4 tsp salt

2 egg yolks

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp vanilla



1. Scald milk.



2. Blend together flour, brown sugar, and salt.



3. Add dry ingredients to scalded milk, cook until thick.



4. Once thick remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.



5. Pour into pie shell.

Lasagna

Ingredients:



1 tsp garlic

1 tsp parsley

1 tsp basilic

1 tsp oregano

bay leaves

salt

pepper

16 slices of lasagna per pan

1 lb hamburg

onions



1. Fry hamburg and onions.

2. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, 1 can water and mushrooms.

3. Add 1 tbsp sugar, 2 tsp salt, 3/4 cup water.

4. Add seasonings last, and simmer as long as you want.

5. In pan start layering, 1 row of lasagna, sauce, 1 row of lasagna (opposite way), sauce, last layer only lasagna. Add grated cheese to the top.



** Can put peperoni in sauce and salami on top of sauce if desired.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I got this one from a friend back in High School. The recipe is great, easy to make and if you use Crisco's Golden Shortening, the color and flavor to this recipe is amazing. By far one of the best chocolate chip cookies recipes out there!

Ingredients:

1 cup shortening or 3/4 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup chocolate chips

2 cups flour

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375F.

2. Mix shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla, and eggs into a bowl.

3. Mix dry ingredients in separate bowl.

4. Add flour mixture slowly to wet ingredients.

5. Add in chocolate chips.

6. Bake for 7-10 minutes until golden brown.

Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut butter cookies, always a delicious treat!!

Ingredients:

3/4 cup flour

1/8 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/8 tsp salt

1/4 cup margarine

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup white sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375F.

2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt.

3. Cream butter and peanut butter until light, then add both sugars and cream together.

4. Beat in egg and stir in vanilla.

5. Add flour in 3 parts.

6. Measure out tablespoons of dough and form into balls.

7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Easy Graham Bars

Ingredients:



3 cups graham crumbs

1 cup evaporated milk

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter (not melted)

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1 cup chocolate chips



1. Preheat oven to 350F (325F if glass pan)



2. Mix all ingredients together with beaters.



3. Grease a 9x9 pan and pour batter into pan.



4. Bake for 35-40 mins.

Heaven's Delight

Ingredients:



1/2 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup cream (or Carnation milk)

1 cup fine coconut

1 cup crushed grahams

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)



1. Line an 8 inch square pan with graham wafers.



2. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.



3. Pour in on top of the graham wafers.

Butterscotch Marshmallow Squares

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup peanut butter

1 pkg butterscotch chippits

10 oz pkg miniature marshmallows



1.Put butter, peanut butter and butterscotch chippits in a double boiler.



2. Add miniature marshmallows in an 8x8 pan.



3. Frost with chocolate icing.

Sweet marie Bars

Ingredients:



1 cup white sugar

1 cup corn syrup

1 cup peanut butter

1 pkg of chocolate chips or butterscotch chips.

4 cups Rice Krispies

1 cup crushed peanuts (optional)



1. Mix together white sugar, corn syrup, chocolate chips and bring to a boil.



2. Pour mixture over Rice Krispies and peanuts.



3. Make in a roll on wax paper.



4. Put in fridge to cool.



5. Slice.

Nanaimo Magic Squares

This is a great recipe, tastes very similar to the ones you would buy the kits at the store for except with slight variations. Delicious!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup cocoa

1 egg beaten

2 cups graham wafer crumbs

1 cup coconut

1/2 cup chopped nuts or peanuts

1 can eagle brand milk

1/3 cup lemon juice

1/3 cup chocolate chips



Directions:

1. For the base, melt butter, add sugar, cocoa, egg, coconut, nuts and graham crumbs. Press in 9x9 pan.

2. Mix Eagle Brand Milk with lemon juice and pour over base.

3. Put melted chocolate chips on top for topping.

4. Refrigerate for about 2 hours to set.

Cold Rotini Salad

This is a great meal for a hot summer day! Make in the morning, cool in your fridge and at supper time you'll have a delicious cold rotini salad.

Ingredients:

2 cups uncooked rotini

2 tomatoes chopped

1 green onion

1/2 cucumber

Dressing:

2/3 cup white sugar

1/2 cup oil

1/3 cup ketchup

1/4 cup vinegar

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 tsp paprika

Directions:

1. While rotini is cooking, make dressing and put in fridge.

2.Once rotini is cooked, rinse with cold water to cool then add all ingredients to the rotini and mix well.

3. Cool in fridge until ready to serve.

Apple Crisp

This is a great recipe for the fall, with fresh apples so abundant, why not try baking with the apples and making an apple crisp.

Ingredients:

4 Medium sized apples

3 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup flour

3/4 cup oats

1/2 cup butter

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 350F

2. Peel apples, cut, slice thin and spread evenly over a greased pan. Add more apples if desired.

3. Mix together oats, brown sugar, flour. Add butter and mix until mixture is crumbly.

4. Sprinkle mixture over apples.

5. Bake in oven for approximately 30 mins, or 25 mins if in a glass pan.

6. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream... Delicious!!

Peanut Butter Balls

This is a great recipe. It freezes well and is a family favorite!

Ingredients:

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup Rice Krispies

1 cup icing sugar

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp vanilla

1/3 of a Parowax bar

1 sml pkg of chocolate chips

cherries (optional)

Instructions:

1. Mix peanut butter, Rice Krispies, icing sugar together.

2. Add melted butter and vanilla.

3. Form into balls and add cherries to the centers if desired.

4. To make add parowax and chocolate chips in a double boiler.

5. Dip balls in chocolate and then place on wax paper.

Cherry Dip

This is a great recipe for a family get together and easy to make. Pairs well with sociable crackers or Ritz.

Mix all together in a bowl. Great recipe.

Mars Bars Squares

Delicious for all Mars bars lovers out there and fast to make!

Ingredients:

4 mars bars

1/2 cup margarine

3 cups rice krispies

Directions:

1. Heat bars cut up in the margarine. Remove from heat when melted.

2. Add 3 cups Rice Krispies to mixture.

3. Put into a greased pan (9x9)

4. Melt 1/4 cup margarine and 1 cup of chocolate chips. Spread over the bars.

Shortbread Cookies

This is another recipe I received from a family friend. Easiest shortbread recipe I've ever made!

Ingredients:

1 cup butter (soft)

1-1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup icing sugar

1. Whip at medium speed for 10 mins.

2. Drop on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

3. Bake at 325F for 10 mins.

Butterscotch Pinwheels

This is a recipe I received from a family friend, easy to make and a great variation from your normal cinamon pinwheels.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour

4 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup milk

1/3 cup margarine

2/3 cup brown sugar

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350F

2. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together.

3. Add in milk and shortening and mix well.

4. Roll out.

5. Cream together margarine and brown sugar.

6. Spread mixture evenly over dough.

7. Roll dough and then cut in slices.

8. Cook for 12-15 mins until golden brown.
